Menstrual Hygiene Day- Anwojue Educates over 300 Secondary School Girls

Sanitary Pads to Keep 300 Young Girls in School.

Due to inability to effetively manage menstruation 1 out of 5 Nigerian school girls tend to skip school or make use of unhygienic products to manage their menstrual cycle hence poor sanitation.

This critical unavailability of sanitary products in Nigeria and it’s rural areas is a major barrier to education for girls of school going age.

This is where we as an organisation in collaboration with members of the Nigerian Youth Service Corps(Reproductive Health, HIV/ AIDs CDS) came together to teach the girls at Lisabi Grammer School in Abeokuta the usefulness of effective and proper menstrual hygiene.

We distributed more than 300 packs of sanitary pads to these girls and further conducted mentrual health education to everybody present that is the students and youth corp members.

We as an organisation still needs your support to buy and provide more sanitary pads that will benefit our girls and we shall continue to educate and create awareness to break the myth around menstral health in Nigeria.
