According to the World Health Organization 38 per cent of women in South east of a continent experience domestic violence in their lifetime.
Dr Shahriar who recently conducted a research reveals that women who experienced domestic violence are less likely to become entrepreneurs, fuelled by and increased fear of failure and sense of inadequacy.
The current business programs does not in any way cater for the problems encontered by women who have in the past experienced bad shocks and also earn low income.
This arrangement is designed to help these women build psychological capability so that they will be able to adapt with adversity, at the same time we will be giving them the required tools and knowledge to stimulate their ‘business mind’ in worst conditions.
How do we intend to go about this?
Our Strategies
- Investing in adolescent girls, widows, orphan to equip them with skills, confidence and life options: through family, schools, technical and vocational education and training, and health, social and economic support systems.
We believe if we can help younger girls, we can transform them as they grow to become older women.
- Making infrastructure, services and technology accessible for widows, orphans, physically challenged and girl children.
- Facilitating adolescent girls’ engagement in civic, economic and political life
