Empowering Ijebu Youth: How a Football Competition Fosters More Than Just Champions

The Anwojue Inter Secondary School football competition (3rd edition) commenced on May 20th, 2024, organized by AnwojueHopeFoundation and Packaged by Kayog sports international.

The competition brought together 22 schools from Ijebu North, Ijebu East, and Ogun Waterside L.G.As, 9 schools represented Ijebu North L.G.A, 8 schools represented Ijebu East L.G.A, and 4 schools represented Ogun Waterside L.G.A and the defending champion from the last Edition(Ogbobo Baptist High School) from Ijebu North East L.G.A.

                     

 

Matches were held at Saint Anthony Grammar School Ijebu Imusin, Abusi Edumare Academy, and IBiade Comprehensive High School.

The competition attracted a significant audience, with attendees praising the objectives of eradicating social vices, emphasizing the importance of the boy child, and discouraging cultism, which were central to the event.

After a series of intense matches, The grand finale took place at Dipo Dina Stadium in Ijebu Ode on June 25th, 2025.

Saint Anthony Grammar School emerged as the champions.

Ijebu Imusin Comprehensive High School secured second place, IBiade Comprehensive High School in third place, and Ogbogbo Baptist High School in fourth place.

The event successfully reached over 800 spectators, receiving positive feedbackfrom principals, staff, and fans alike.
